Introducing Gabby!

We got to the hospital @ 9pmish on the 5th, was 1cm/50%, started the cervical ripening at 10pm. Mild contractions. Sleeping pill @ 1145pm but little sleep. Checked @ 2am, no change =( Next dose of ripening at 2am. At 330am contractions picked up, pretty intense, every 2-3 minutes. 430am got Stadol. Checked at 6am 1 1/2 cm dilated, effaced to 60% and pitocin started. 630am got more Stadol. 736am Dr came in & checked, still 1 1/2 cm dialted and 70% effaced, broke water. Holy god, that hurt!!! Labored w/ Davids help thru many many painful (or powerful lol) being able to stand and use David to lean on and rock/sway with helped. At 10am Epi given after many talks about it lol The due who did it was great with me and Im so grateful for that! At 1118am checked and dilated to 3cm/100% effaced. Napped!!!

Kinda gets scary from here on out... woke up at 1230pm and could not breathe. Had to try hard to get Davids attention as he was sleeping across the room. My b/p was out of control and babys heart rate dropped alot and nurse came running in. They put o2 mask on me, checked me and I was 7cm and entering transition. They had to move me around alot to try to get babys heartrate to normalize, I could tell they were panicking, David was trying to keep me calm. I felt kind of useless since I could not really move at all to help them roll me etc. The epi was REALLY strong! I could feel things going fast, they checked me at 1235pm and I was 8cm. Nurses started running around prepping for delivery and trying to keep my b/p stable and babys h/r stable. Nurse checked me again a few minutes before 1pm and I was 9 1/2cm. At 1pm my Dr was called for delivery and he arrived at 104pm. He had me do a 'practice' push, but she was already crowning. I pushed for 3 contractions, a total of 9 pushes and it took 8 minutes!

It wasnt the birth I had planned but it was amazing none the less and I couldnt be happier! Gabby was grunting a bit when she first came (her apgars were 6/9) so she had to go to the nursery for about an hour w/ Daddy. Her blood sugar was a bit low at first and she had a hard time with her body temp but everything was resolved very quickly! I only tore a tiny bit and needed 1 stitch.

We were ready to go home on Thursday but I had to have an MRI done and then wait for my MS IVIG transfusion on Friday. Im feeling awesome!!!
