Better late than never?
Seriously, posting 'regularly' on here is becoming near impossible!! Christmas has come and gone and another year is upon us. I have heard so many people around me say how glad they are that 2011 is over and how excited they are for a New Year...and while I too, am excited for everything a New Year will bring, I was sort of sad to see this last one come to an end. Superman and I and our girls had a great 2011!!
So let's see...Christmas...I will spare everyone the details and just say we survived =) Everyone made it through no worse for wear and with some new memories. The girls were [ridiculously, insanely] spoiled and Mumma and Daddy didn't do too poorly, either. We are so blessed to love each other so much and have such great Parents on both sides that love us & our girls just as much.
As the New Year begins we are looking forward to many things! Gabby & Gracey are both growing so quickly & although it saddens me greatly, it also gives me much joy. They are becoming fast friends and are having more and more fun interacting as Gracey gets older.
Gracey is still a rapidly growing [not little at all] little monster, breastfeeding really suits her, so much so that she prefers to do it about every 1.5 hours IF that. The upside to a little lady that eats SO frequently during every waking hour is that there are not any waking hours during the night. Since between 6 & 8 weeks she transitioned nicely to actually wanting to sleep at night and she does so now from about 9pm to 7-8am with no waking in between. It's heavenly. I thank goodness all my babies have been such amazing sleepers. They must know their Mumma desperately needs some regular sleep to survive [and not have a nasty MS relapse!]
Gabby is a talking machine! It is hard to believe anyone was ever concerned over her [lack of] vocabulary!! She still surprises her dad and I some days with her wealth of knowledge, and her imagination is something to behold. Bless her heart. As I type this, I look down to see Gabby trying to be a good big sister and share some of her chocolate milk with Gracey! Now she has moved on to painting Daddy's toenails.
Both Kimberly and Jade are excelling in school this year, Jade having improved all her grades and Kimberly having made High Honors at her High School. I LOVE that she loves school so much, is so social and still manages to keep her head on straight while buckling down and making honor roll! I have high hopes for her in the upcoming years =)
Kimberly will be coming to visit over her February break [we just secured her plane tickets, YAY!] and I am super excited to see her. It has been far too long and I miss her greatly. After her return to Maine I only have a few short months to ride out before David and I take the Gs on their first big road trip. We are taking a couple of weeks vacation and driving to Maine, spending some time their enjoying friends and family and celebrating Kim's Sweet 16th Birthday. OMG I can't believe she will be 16!!! Sooooo excited about seeing everyone, getting away from the nasty Texas heat and spending some time on the beach!!! It will be the Gs first ocean trip and they will love it! Since it will be close to Gracey's 1st birthday, we will also be celebrating that too, along with Independence Day [we will be there over the 4th of July] So, lots to look forward to this summer!!!
